Welcome to Team 5's project homepage! Here you can find up-to-date information on the progress of the Digital Temperature Controller design and implementation, as well as contact information and important documents. The Digital Temperature Controller is being sponsored by Phonon Corporation, and is being completed as part of the UConn Electrical and Computer Engineering Senior Design Program. We encourage visitors to read any relevant material and e-mail the group members with any questions.

Phonon's primary operation consists of the design, processing, and assembly of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices and subsystems for their unique signal processing capabilities. Since Phonon is committed to remaining concentrated on defense applications, these devices go on to be used in the full military range of -55C to 125C. Currently, to stabilize the internal oven temperature of the high performance SAW products, Phonon uses two different miniature temperature controllers and the overall goal of this project is to create the third generation temperature controller that has the distinct capability of being externally programmable without any physical deconstruction.
