 Project Statement                   What is new
In today’s world many people find that their job or education require that they spend a considerable amount of time away from their homes. When a person leaves to go to work, school, or other commitments, one very important thing is left behind, our homes.  Some individual may have a family member to look after their house; some may not.  A house unfortunately is not like an automobile.  We cannot simply ‘turn it off’ and let it sit idle for extended lengths of time.  There are numerous systems in a house, which cannot be shut down without consequences.  Some of these vital systems are: electricity, water, boiler, heat (water or electric), or security systems.  If any of these systems fail while the homeowner is away, there can be severe problems. A system needs to be designed which will monitor a house for any disruptions in a system, which might cause damage to the home.  The system must then be able to isolate the failure to prevent as much damage as possible, and notify the proper authorities so the problem can be resolved in a timely manner.
