My areas of interest have been varied and broad, but stem from a "systems" background. Research interests include modeling human decision making behavior, with emphasis on human performance subject to varying levels of information processing workload demands. Modeling cognitive behavior and learning when applied to student development and learning styles forms a more recent area of interest. Computer applications in engineering education with special emphasis on numerical methods and numerical computing is an area of expertise as well. My work with the American Society for Engineering Education has focused on the Freshman Programs Division and the Educational Research and Methods Division. Applying effective teaching strategies in the classroom has become an area of interest. Engineering education as related to the University of Connecticut's School of Engineering, and more generally dealing with the educational issues dealing with technology, is an area of interest.Memberships:
