Here's a little bit more about our program.

  • Our department has a highly favorable student-to-faculty ratio (currently around 10:1), which allows our Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering students to work closely with the faculty and receive personal attention while enjoying all the opportunities that come with attending a large flagship university like UConn.
  • The constantly updated curriculum includes courses in the latest technologies, e.g., possible minors in nanotechnology and information assurance. (http://www.ee.uconn.edu/undergraduate-program).
  • Undergraduate students can gain valuable research experience by working on research projects alongside graduate students and faculty members.
  • In their final year, all Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering majors work on a yearlong team-based design project (fully funded by a sponsoring company or the university) to prepare them for engineering practice after graduation. Take a look at some of the projects that recent graduates have worked on by going to: http://ecesd.engr.uconn.edu
  • Our 2019 graduates had an 85% placement rate by graduation and the rest have found jobs a few months after graduation.  The average salary was $72,124 - higher than the national mean for EE grads (www.naceweb.org)

We wish we could invite you to campus either for our open house or for Husky for a Day, but as you know, in light of the Covid-19 crisis, the campus is not open to visitors at this time.  In place of that, we will have 2 webinars in which you will have an opportunity to ask questions and meet with some of our students.

The dates/times of the webinars will be on October 5 and 6 at 5:30pm.  Please pre-register for one of the webinar dates here and you will get the WebEx link that will allow you to join the webinar.

While you're waiting, you can get a virtual look at the department in some of the videos below:

The UConn ECE department has active student chapters of the IEEE and HKN which organize a number of activities for students including an annual barbecue, holiday lights display, a robotics competition, and tutoring.  Our HKN chapter has won a national outstanding chapter award each of the last three years.
